Alpha 3 is released today and comes with some big changes! The new map system is very basic and will be the focus of Alpha 4. It consolidates gameplay and allows for more time to be focused on Combat. It'll also allow for quicker improvements to the map overall with it's new style. The original map occurrences will still be in place. The flee button which was added is perhaps the most important update. It adds a non-combat option to flee combat. It will be tiered to your Captain's level, making it very important for him to gain XP.
Fixed bug where Enemy AI would "bounce" when manning a station. This bug fix also increased performance of the game in terms of FPS. |
Fixed bug where the first time you shot the cannons you had to click the shoot button twice. |
Cannon Balls only appear after clearing the ships. Helps to heighten realism. |
Only the Captain can man the helm/"wheel" of the ship. |
Crew portaits have been "prettied up". They also have a skill column now and a crew title (first mate, scallywag, etc). These will receive further updates to make them useful in-game. |

Exploding wood/water effect when cannon balls explode on deck or in the water. |

Flee button - Flee combat based on Captain's rank and him manning the wheel. |
